The VMMA was invited by Barbara Komlyk (Village Co-ordinator) of “The Village Baxter” retirement village to join with them on Saturday 2nd October 2010 between the hours 9.00 am to 1.00 pm at the “The Village Baxter” retirement village South Frankston that has more than 900 residents living on site.

VMMA setting up their display.

Once every year the Village has a popular Open Day/fete which includes  Classic Car and Motorcycle Display's that add to this great community activity by giving the residents a chance to Re Live a time long since gone (Their Youth).

The VMMA attended this community based activity and contributed by having a VMMA display of motorcycles.

Bob, Jean, Ian and Kerry left home at 8.05 am, temperature was 0 degree's and took the quick route via Eastlink arriving at The Village Baxter at 8.50 am, entered via gate 2 and was directed to spot near classic cars and bikes nice Norton's, day was by this time lovely and sunny.

Part of VMMA Inc. display at the Village Baxter Retirement Village.

The following members made this VMMA display a success Bob & Jean, Kerry & Ian, Richo, Taxi ( scooter ), Beryl (car ), Nellie (car ), Viv & Dave, Brian & Grandson, Woody , Johno, Dean & Tracy, Blake & Rolly the dog (new mascot ) .

The display comprised of our motorcycles being line up with the flag mounted on the trike and the large banner tied to the strongest motorcycles Richo's & Kerry's!!!!!

During the day Ian did a great job selling the VMMA merchandise along with encouraging people to make a donation to our charity fund, Ian you have passed your apprenticeship to the merchandise group. Raised approx. $160.00, Well Done.

It just does not get any better than this!!!!!

This was the first event that we have worn our Hi Vis Vests with our logo on the back, this clearly identified our group and attracted a lot of attention to our organisation, no lost vests at the end of the day thank you everyone for returning them.

Bob was pleasantly surprised to meet many aged members of freemasonry from both the craft and other orders and he even new a number of them personally, we are not that surprise Old Nic new some of them!!!!

Just some of the many people who came up to the VMMA display for a talk.

Once again the trike created good interest with many people having their photograph taken sitting on it even Taxi & Beryl the children enjoyed the horn noises too much so Jean gave them a chocolate frog so they would stop.

Woody once again did not hesitate to provide a motorcycle ride when asked and provide a ride to Sue the nursing co-ordinater with Johno riding an escort.

Many residents wondered around even one lady 103 looked very sprightly and mentioned she had letters from the Queen and Government departments but the best letter was from Carlton Football Club. Dean said Jean had more wrinkles than her ( cheeky boy )

Just one of the many photo shoots on the trike.

Kerry & Jean nearly got skittled by one of the residents in a car who believed she had right of way in her complex of 87 acres.

The event was all over by 1.00 pm and it was time to pack up with Kerry, Ian, Johno, Bob & Jean deciding to go for a ride down to Hastings for coffee and then rode home via Stony Point, Pakenham and Woori Yallock.
