28th February 2010
I am very pleased to report that this inaugural event conducted at the Maroondah Dam Park in Healesville was attended by 60+ VMMA members, friends and family members.

Pedro explaining the meaning behind the Remembrance Day and then invited the VMMA Welfare Officer David Hall to briefly speak of those VMMA members who are no longer with us.
It was absolutely fabulous to see so many children and grandchildren in attendance.
Thank you to all who attended, particularly those who travelled very long distances and made that special effort to start well before daylight to travel to Healesville.

Alyana at the Remembrance Day. VMMA Vice President with Granddaughter Ruby.
This Remembrance Day is, and will continue to be very important to us in remembering those who are departed.
David Hall conducted the ceremony extremely well I thought and having worked with him in the lead up to the event I can declare that he put a lot of thought and effort into what he said.
As you can see the day was well supported by VMMA members, family and friends.
Of course the day is also about bringing families and friends together to socialise and have a picnic and games and it was also great to see this happening.
As an annual event the day will now always be on the Sunday before the Victorian Labour Day weekend.

Thank you all once again for your support and attendance.
