VMMA Display at Camberwell Masonic Centre Open Night
Friday 12th November 2010
The VMMA was invited by District 115 Co-ordinator Graham Dines to attend and participate in the Camberwell Masonic Centre Open Night on Friday 12th November by providing a static display.
Our display consisted of a motorcycle, power point presentation, photographs, newsletters, information pamphlets, promotional material on the "Breathless" 8 Day Ride that had just concluded.
Setting up the VMMA display at Camberwell Masonic Centre.
Unfortunately all day Friday it had threatened to rain and the forecast predicted thunderstorms in the evening, but this did not stop Chris riding his motorcycle so it could be included in the static display. In fact some suggest that Chris was hoping for rain to wet the bike and then hopefully someone would shammie it and bingo bike is all clean.
Well the rain did come down as the heavens opened up with gusto just as Chris rode down Prospect Hill Road, it was parked very abruptly on the foot path with a very quick dismount to seek cover in the Masonic centre.
If this was all a plan it worked, once the rain eased off the motorcycle was wheeled into the Masonic Centre as part of the display and Dean shammied the bike (well planned Chris!!!!)
Visual proof of Chris's plan being implemented!!!!
The following VMMA members attended to support the static display Bob, Jean, Dean, Tracy, Blake, Chris and Sharyn.
We were once again in good company with both the Ionic Coaching Service and Task Force also supporting the Open Night with their displays.
Bob and Chris met up with a good number of long standing friends from within the District for they both circulated the Masonic Centers in that area when their lodge was a Kew Masonic Centre.

Looks like we have gained a mannequin!!!!
Now the mannequins have gained heads!!!!
At eight o'clock everyone was invited to go stairs and take a seat in the Lodge Room for the presentation from Freemasons Representative on the evening John Glover who is no stranger to such evenings.
At 9 o'clock the presentation in the lodge room concluded and everyone was invited down stairs for supper and to look at the various displays and ask questions.
John Glover was Freemasons Victoria Open Night presenter.
Indeed the VMMA display attracted a good number of enquiries from guests with newsletters and information sheets being taken away for perusal, one young man was actually going for his "L" plates the following week and showed interest in joining with us in the future.
Enjoying supper after the presentation in the lodge room.
Attending Open Nights and other Freemasons Victoria events always generates interest from the general community and is another way of involving others in our activities.
Thank you District 115 for your invitation to attend your Open Night at Camberwell Masonic Centre.
