Social ride to Beveridge Tavern
Sunday 30th August 2009
The monthly social ride took place on Sunday 30th August with the meeting place being the Shell Westgate Servo, it was a day to get all the good warm gear on.
It had been a very ordinary week leading up to the social ride, but this did not deter Bob, Jean, Johnno, Richo, Chris, Sharyn, Viv, Dave, Woody, Kerry and Mal from turning out at the Shell Servo.
Shell Servo outbound Westgate Bridge ready for social ride to Beveridge Tavern.
L to R: Mal, Woody, Dave, Sharyn, Bob, Kerry and Jean.
Dean and Tracy were regulated to the car for Dean's Honda decide to stop whilst traveling to Chris & Sharyn's for the ride to the Shell Westgate, well that's the story and we heard no complaints about being in a warm vehicle when we rode into Beveridge just as the wind picked up and the rain started to come down.

Sergeant Major is now saluting Viv!!!
First port of call at Beveridge Tavern was the open fire in the bar.
L to R: Kerry, Richo and Woody.
Chris was the lead rider and some how found a good number of back roads from the Shell Servo at the Westgate across to Beveridge via Rockbank, Melton, Toolern Vale, Diggers Rest, Bulla, Oaklands Junction, Yuroke, Donnybrook and Woodstock.
Arriving at the Beveridge Tavern at around 12.30 pm as planned, we greeted by two very warm members, yes Dean and Tracy and soon after The Baron arrived after riding down from Euroa to join us.

Social ride concluded at Beveridge Tavern with a good old Sunday roast beef or pork for just $15.00
You could not have wanted for a better Sunday lunch.
Beveridge Tavern had 2 open wood fires going for us to warm up on and our hostess Sharyn (yes with a Y) took care of us and provided one of the best Sunday Roast I have had for a long time with either beef or pork being on offer for only $15, great value.
Absolutely amazing how he made a motorcycle whilst socialising at the Beveridge Tavern.
Whilst at Beveridge Tavern a young man arrived who was very proficient with making figures from what I call clown balloons, he made a motorcycle out of the balloons to mark our visit to the Tavern.
After the Sunday Roast we departed from the Tavern to travel our own way back home.
Once again another very successful social ride and for those who were unable to attend you would be well advised to try and make the next social and have a good time with friends.
