On the 18th of October the VMMA were at the Lilydale Masonic Centre to Install Master Elect Bro. Arthur Irving (VMMA member) into the chair at The Orient Lodge Of Lilydale No. 108.

The Lilydale Masonic Centre has a reasonably compact Lodge Room which meant that everyone was close to the 'action'.

Richard Penna performed the role of Installing Master for the evening while the Baron was our Proclaiming Officer.

It was a pity that Chris was up in Bright as the Lodge room has probably got one of the most spacious Junior Warden's seating positions in the whole state. He could have had a very comfortable evening had he joined us.

The Installation Ceremony went well and then we joined in with the hospitality of the Orient Lodge in the South. Arthur's wife Lyn made a magnificent cake - and it tasted as good as it looked. The evening meal was most enjoyable too.

Baron got a great response from the crowd with his traditional 'English bike' sendoff for the Master. Everyone joined in and the cheer at the end was probably one of the loudest I have heard at any of the Installations I have attended.

The new Master was very kind with his gratitude for the job performed by the VMMA Team. Arthur spoke about how relaxed he felt throughout the whole evening and contributed a lot of that to the way the VMMA conducted the evening which was with purpose, but also with an element of fun thrown in as well.

Feedback from members of other Lodges who meet at the centre, and who were in attendance, also expressed that the whole event had been most enjoyable and very well done.
