On Monday 3rd December the VMMA attended at the Uniting Care facility in Croydon to make a donation of some 250 soft toys that had been hand crafted by ladies of one of Larry's Past Master 's groups. This group of ladies made the soft toys specifically for the VMMA to donate them to a worthy charitable organisation.

VMMA members Larry and IIona King were the main players that made this donation possible, they approached Uniting Care to see if they had a worthy cause for these soft toys.
Jane Conway - Clarke of Uniting Care "Connections" became our contact person, it was agreed that the VMMA would gather the soft toys for distribution amongst the local community for children and our senior members of the community as part of the Christmas Program.
The "Connections" program that runs from Croydon is not just a local program, it is the centre hub to providing for an area from Hastings to Geelong.

At 10.30 a.m. Larry, IIona, Chris and Sharyn met with Jane Conway - Clarke at the Croydon "Connections" distribution house, Chris and Sharyn rode their motorcycles and yes it rained while Larry and IIona arrived with a car full of soft toys.
Jane made us extremely welcome and introduced us to all the employees and volunteers working on the "Connections" Christmas program along with explaining how the program worked and showing us the items they currently have at hand.

The soft toys the VMMA donated will be used in the "Connections" Christmas program by being distributed to seniors in our community who are institutionalised and receive each year a new soft toy that becomes their security blanket, remaining soft toys will be distributed to families who are in need at Christmas.
