Report of Extra Rehearsal Installation Team
Saturday 29th September 2007
Extra Installation rehearsal was held at Bendigo Masonic Centre with VMMA members being invited to attend even if they were not in the installation team to give Pedro an opportunity to rehearse in front of a crowd.
The following members Pedro, Baron, Chris, Dean and Dave supported this extra rehearsal held on Saturday 29th September.
Bendigo Masonic Centre
Chris, Sharyn, Dean, Dave and Viv met at the BP just past the Calder Race Track at 9.00 a.m. for a group ride up to Bendigo, departing the BP we headed up the Calder for a planned coffee stop at Malmsbury but we had a unplanned stop along the freeway for Chris lost a vital component from the new 1400 GTR and once again Dean and others were there to mark the moment.
The steering head main lock nut had vibrated loose and fell on the road at a good speed, only to bounce over Sharyn who was traveling behind and then disappeared in front of Dean into the grass edging.

Found steering head lock nut. Chris tightening it up at Malmsbury with a passion it will not come loose again.
Stopping on the Freeway Dean and Chris walked back in hope of finding the needle in a hay stack, it was found and re-attached to the Kawa, but not without some photographs being taken to once again record the event.
We stopped at Malmsbury for the traditional coffee and pie's from the Bakery whilst Chris tighten that steering head lock nut.
Arriving around 11.30 a.m. at the Bendigo Masonic Centre we found Pedro and Baron had opened up and had tea, coffee and biscuits at the ready, Sharyn and Viv left us at this point to look at Antique Shops whilst we proceeded with our rehearsal.
Around 1.30 p.m. Sharyn and Viv returned and shortly after that the rehearsal was complete, Pedro then invited us back to Sedgwick for a drink and to partake in a cake that Bron had made for us. Pedro took us the back roads through Bendigo and then onto Sedgwick, even during day light you must be careful to observe the road side for a group of Kangaroo's crossed the road in front of the front riders.
Pedro with Grandson William at Sedgwick.
With Baron whining about being hungry and wanting to stop for lunch we continued to Sedgwick without stopping, Baron made it known he was hungry and he was fortunate that Bron obliged him by making a sandwich with heaps of chili of which Baron sat and ate with no comment (what a man!!!!).
It was decided to make the return ride home via back roads through Sutton Grange, Redesdale, Mia Mia to Heathcote, well that was the plan but in fact our leader Baron got us to Heathcote but not via the planned route but via his pure luck of judgment via unknown roads to Knowsley and then down to Heathcote.
Continuing with back roads we traveled via Costerfield, Graytown to Nagambie were we stopped at a local cafe for a early tea, from this point we split up into various groups to head to our abodes, Dave and Viv traveled down the Hume Hwy, Chris, Sharyn and Dean traveled down to Seymour and then traveled via Strath Creek, Flowerdale, Glenburn, Yarra Glen to Mooroolbark, whilst Baron rode off into the sunset to Euroa.
