General Meeting & Christmas Break-up Social Weekend
Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd December 2007
The final VMMA General Meeting for 2007 was held at Maryborough , Central Victoria on the weekend of the 1st & 2nd of December, this concludes our 1st year of holding General Meetings and AGM throughout Victoria which enables a greater participation to decision making by our membership.
This particular weekend was also our Christmas Breakup for 2007, even though we have another 3 events to attend prior to Christmas.
Our host's for the weekend at Maryborough was Deb & Garry from Bristol Hill Motel Inn, who could not have been any more accommodating to our requirements.

Saturday morning departure from BP Servo just past the Calder Park Thunder Dome Raceway.
The weekend started at the new BP Servo located just past the Calder Park Thunder Dome Raceway, meeting at 9.30 a.m. for a 10.00 a.m. departure.
We had an excellent turn out for the group ride from Melbourne to Maryborough and arrived on time with no incidents, on our arrival we found a good number of members already settled in for the weekend and others continued to ride in from our parts of Victoria.
It had been pre-arranged for a BBQ lunch on our arrival at Bristol Hill Motel Inn, due to the heat of the day our hosts provided the lunch in the restaurant which was our venue for the General Meeting.
After a very satisfying lunch the General Meeting started on time (Yes on time, do not believe everything the Vice President says about Chris's time keeping).
Excellent turn out for General Meeting.
A number of members have changed their motorcycles in recent months with the following members riding their new purchases to Maryborough, Phil Tinker now has a Honda VTR 1000 Firestorm, the Red Baron now has a BMW R1100RT, Terry King now has a Suzuki DL1000 V Strom, Alan Bonnett now has a Honda 250 scooter, Larry King has again returned to riding after a nasty arm injury, and now back on a beloved Harley Davidson (Road King I think) and finally Jean and Bob Nicholls will be taking delivery of their trike in the coming weeks – Jean is being tested in the next two weeks, and will be the ‘trike captain’ while Bob will (I guess) be the navigator.
It was great to see Bob Nichols at the meeting considering the recent heart operations he has undergone, Barry and Rhonda Forster for their effort in coming over form Bright, Erwin for his attendance, considering he has come from MacKay QLD and Alan Bonnett from Shepparton, who has had some bike problems recently, but now back in the saddle.
At the conclusion of the meeting members dispersed in all directions, some had a sleep (Yes Sleep) other socialised around the swimming pool while Chris and Baron stayed in the cool of the restaurant and it would have been in Baron's best interest to stay there.

Baron yes your phone is very very wet!!!!!
Baron and Chris finally emerged from the restaurant (Bar) and headed towards the swimming pool to join those already settled pool side, now this is the point when Baron wished he had not emerged for he proceeded to unload Terri into the pool but had not considered Dean may responded by unloading Baron into the pool, unload he did, Baron with all his worldly possessions in his pockets, new mobile stuffed, moths could no longer fly out of his wallet.
All our activities for the Saturday had been pre-arranged to be held at the Bristol Hill Motel Inn so that no riding was involved once we had arrived in Maryborough, it is now 6.30 p.m. and dinner time.

Glenn and Deb. Barry and Rhonda from Bright.
Back across the yard to the restaurant were we found Deb & Gary had setup 2 large table settings for our evenings Christmas break-up, Barry and Rhonda had also invited family who live in Maryborough to join with us for dinner.
Well what a night of fun and laughter by all, it is at these occasions when you really get to know each other and your friendships develop.
Believe it or not the evening concluded for most around 10.00 p.m. with the real party goers lasting another half an hour, all done and finished at 10.30 p.m.

Gathering around swimming pool after the general meeting. Sunday morning breakfast
Sunday morning it was once again back into the restaurant for 8.00 a.m. for breakfast followed by a 10.00 a.m. departure to Ballarat for those who were attending The Eureka Ride.
Not enough can be said about our hosts Deb & Garry, they really put themselves out to cater for all our requirements at a reasonable price, value for money and highly recommended to anyone traveling through Maryborough.
