(went through Anakie this time)

This was a ride with a difference in that it was an afternoon social ride that incorporated a ferry trip and then dinner into the Moon Light, 8 riders turned out at the Shell Servo for the ride Eric, Brian, Richo, Dennis Anita, Dean Chris and Sharyn.

Eric had already checked out the ride route earlier in the day which took us along back roads through the Brisbane Ranges via great riding roads down to Geelong and finally Queenscliff  to board the ferry to Sorrento.

Surprisingly a cool breeze made the ride very comfortable, for the weather forecast indicated it was going to be stinker.

We actually rode through Anakie which is some what different to the actual Social Ride to Anakie last year when we did not even get close to Anakie, we have a great ride co-ordinator by his compass needs some fine tuning!!!!

Made the 7.00 p.m. ferry to Sorrento.

Eric had informed us that the last ferry departed at 6.00 p.m. from Queenscliff, not good when you arrive at Queenscliff at 6.15 p.m. and you can actually see the ferry heading across the heads.

Alas Eric to the rescue he had told us a porky, last ferry departs at 7.00 p.m.

We had ridden not stop from the Shell at Westgate to Queenscliff and everyone was looking for a coffee, purchased ferry tickets and waited in the kiosk at the ferry departure point.

Anita, Dennis, Eric and Dean at Queenscliff, we are 15 minutes late, Eric is holding back on the 7.00 p.m. ferry.

The ferry boarding was quite simple just ride on and park the bike, it is recommended that riders stay with their bike if the trip was rough for there are no tie downs for the bike they are left on their side stands, our trip was smooth.

On our approach to Sorrento a number of dolphins appeared and followed the ferry, it was decided on departure of the ferry to have dinner at the Sorrento Pub, not a good idea "Jan" for there was a queue out the door and it was 8.15 p.m., Anita YES Anita suggested the Rye Hotel this turned out also not to a good idea "Jan" for it took 1 1/2 hours to receive our meals of which were not worth the money, but the Full Moon was out to complete the social ride.

We departed the Rye Hotel around 10.15 p.m. after having a great ride and social afternoon together, thank you Eric for organising this event.
