Hi all.

Yet another very successful regional general meeting has been run and done.

There were two departure points in Melbourne for the meeting at Traralgon, one being at Yarra Junction for an over the hills ride and the other from Berwick down the main road to Traralgon, thank you Dennis for leading the ride from Berwick and Eric for leading yourself.

Both groups along with those who made their own way to Traralgon met at the Royal Exchange Hotel at 12.00 hours for a counter lunch, food and service was excellent and is highly recommended.

Royal Exchange Hotel for lunch, highly recommended.

This time it was held in Traralgon on 24 Feb 07; at the old library which is now the Kate Teyschene Centre. We are very grateful to Noel Harris for organising the venue, but somewhat disappointed that the local Lodge would not offer us their venue at no cost.

As we say in the Craft "the attendance was as per the appearance book" and on this occasion numbered 20.

We were very pleased to welcome a new member Danny Hume, who had joined only 3 days ago. We are very glad to have Gary and Glenda Power back with us and becoming more actively involved in future activities. Terry Goldsbrough, a local Moe resident and Past President of VMMA, managed to shuffle his busy work schedule to join us also. Terry has been tied up with some large (on and offshore) commercial projects in the past few years, and frequently living away from home, so has not been available to link up with the VMMA.

Nice to see Mike Dixon in attendance and well again after some medical problems.

Some of the members who attended the committee meeting.

Amongst those present were Jean and Bob Nichols. Some of you will remember that Jean very kindly provided home made sausage rolls and rum balls at the last regional meeting in Bendigo, but alas, we were not to enjoy those flavoursome delights this time. I personally reckon the word has got out about Jeans cooking and those tasty morsels, and that's why we had such a good turn up this time. Ah well, maybe next time.

As usual, Chris conducted the meeting well and we were able to knock over the business in 90 minutes, whilst sharing and enjoying some lighter moments of banter and interesting stories. I was writing furiously trying to keep pace with Chris (and everyone else) as they spoke, so I didn't say a whole lot apart from presenting the Incoming and Outgoing correspondence.

I suppose I should mention the ride/drive down to Traralgon from Melbourne. Due to work commitments I rode down to Melbourne on Friday and stayed with Chris and Sharyn that night. You will remember that Friday was a beautiful day and rather warm. We awoke Saturday morning to hear the rain on the roof.

Dear or dear, I didn't bring ANY wet weather gear. It was therefore decided, with some other aspects being considered, that we would drive. So we hopped into the Ford GT and traveled to the meeting point at Yarra Junction, where we met Eric.

Needless to say he payed out on us for not riding (me particularly, as I don't mind riding in the wet), not only at that point but thereafter during the day.

Eric trying to find that rain I spoke about!!!!!

So, overall, it was another enjoyable day with the VMMA. Hey that rhymes, I'm a poet and I didn't know it.

Until next we meet - Stay Upright. Enjoy life to the max. Be good, be kind, be careful.
