Brunswick North Masonic Centre - Saturday 17th November 2007

Return to Reports 2007 Index

The VMMA was invited to Install Master Elect Bro. Tony Van Ree (VMMA member) into the Chair at Civil Service Lodge, this follows last years Installation at Civil Service Lodge of W. Bro. Colin Fletcher (VMMA member) by the VMMA Installation Team.

The team has had a very busy during 2007 carrying out installations throughout Victoria for VMMA members, the team continues to refine its work under the guidance of our Patron M.W. Bro. John Wilson, P.G.M. and its ability to have a large pool of members to call upon to assist when required.

It must be remembered that the VMMA Installation Team comprises of team members who live throughout Victoria, their personal effort to attend rehearsals and installations most often include an overnight stay and personal expense.

This picture typifies the evening.

As President of the VMMA Inc. I personally thank everyone involved in the team including our ladies who without their support we would not be able to provide an Installation Team to VMMA members.

Once again team members traveled from far and a field to participate in the rehearsal at 1.00 p.m., Civil Service Lodge provided a lovely lunch prior to the rehearsal.

It was a very warm afternoon, but the air-conditioning within the Brunswick North Masonic Centre was working extremely well and we all survived the rehearsal.

Civil Service Lodge is one of a number of Lodge's who have a good number of VMMA members in their membership, this was evident when VMMA members were acknowledged and thanked for attending.

The lodge tyled at 4.30 p.m. a nice and early start, David Wells was the new boy on the block and carried out the position of Inner Guard with distinction, once again we have young W.M.'s and P.M.'s volunteering to be consider in the team along with a M.M. Collar Steward.

The Installation of Master Elect Bro. Tony Van Ree ran very smoothly, W. Bro. Colin Fletcher was presented with a very special I.P.M. jewel that has been associated with Civil Service Lodge for over 55 years.

Prior to retiring to the South the traditional photographic was taken in the Lodge Room of the Installed Master and VMMA members in attendance.

Installed Master W.M. Bro. Tony Van Ree, Ena and Chris.  The south was a fun place to be.

The South was a fun place to be and was led by M.W. Bro. John Wilson P.G.M. who involved everyone in the toast to the W.M., four chairs were place in front of the head table and as John proceeded through his presentation a number of individuals had no choice but to come forward and take a seat.

The exchange of Masonic property was some what one sided with Wazza claiming 3 prizes and an additional one for another lodge member who left early, to top if off the Proclaiming Officers Cutlery Set was won by Wazza.

Wazza watch out when you see the The Red Baron flying around, you may be in his sights!!!!
