What a turn out at the Royal Children's Hospital on a day that had the potential to be terrible for motorcycle riding, but the CanTeen Pre-Ride is a extremely important part of the event with the following members participating Matt, Dennis, Anita, Gary, Cameron, Eric, Viv, Dave, Colin, Chris and Sharyn.
The aim of the Pre-Ride is to travel the route on the day which in this case is a Sunday and to ride the whole route around the same time as we will be on the Annual CanTeen Ride Ride, this gives us a idea of the typical road traffic to be expected along with any community activities that may be held on a Sunday.
Prior to departing the Royal Children's Hospital Matt gave us a ride brief with the first stop being the Lilydale Masonic Centre, then off to the Police Academy following by Grand Lodge at Albert Street and finally back to the Royal Children's Hospital.

The first section of the ride to Lilydale Masonic Centre identified one particular corner that we will require 1 corner marshal and 2 others to advise riders to slow down and that 11 corner marshals will be required for this section of the ride.
Departed the Lilydale Masonic Centre for the Police Academy via Monbulk, Gembrook and Wellington Road, the route selected through the Dandenong's is good easy riding and will be enjoyed by all. We stopped at Monbulk for a coffee and to discuss any concerns that may have arising during this section.

We rode into the Police Academy and once again discussed the section, departed the Police Academy for Grand Lodge via the Monash Freeway getting off at Punt Road, on arrival at Albert Street we met with a number of Grand Lodge officers who had been at rehearsal.
Our final section was from Albert Street back to the Royal Children's Hospital for a final discussion on the route, then off to Erroll's Cafe Restaurant our regularly frequented cafe for a late lunch and coffee before departing in our separate directions.
