Report  on the visit to Albert Edward Lodge at Alexandra on  August 16 by the Red Baron.

Leaving Euroa at just on 7 p.m. I still managed to arrive 40 minutes later, traveling  at a robust pace and only seeing one wombat beside the road , still alive, a lovely night for a ride, no rain and reasonably mild.

As usual arrived to good natured acclaim and banter and promptly tried to frighten the Candidate , but I think he may have been told what to expect, managed to get in without pocking the D.C. in the eye this time and enjoyed some reasonably good work in the Lodge Room under the leadership of W.M. Neil Proudfoot.

The Candidate, to his credit, paid proper attention to the proceedings ,and appeared to be suitably impressed with all that was done to him and for him, as I said an enjoyable ceremony, and I only had one little nap.

My W.M. asked me to make a presentation at the second time of rising, to three Brethren whom had been awarded St Johns Certificates, and this I was given leave to do,  but when I suggested that perhaps some of the brethren might be assaulted in order to provide an opportunity for some practice, it was met with a denial, although Steve Davenport, one of our V.M.M.A. members did offer me the kiss of life!

In the south I was given an opportunity to speak on behalf of the V.M.M.A. and informed the brethren of some of our latest doings and also of our A.G.M.

I was likewise given the response to the visitors toast which was just one more opportunity for a bit of humor, and so after doing the commercial for our upcoming meeting was told to sit down and speak no more!

So went home ,after an enjoyable evening.
