Visit to Yarra Valley Lodge No. 860
Thursday 24th August 2006
This official visit to Yarra Valley Lodge was to make a V.M.M.A. presentation in relation to our charitable work in particular the Annual CanTeen Motorcycle Ride Day that is organised each year by the V.M.M.A.
The following members attended Matt, Eric, Mal, Bob and Dean along with George and Larry who are both V.M.M.A. and Yarra Valley Lodge members.
We were made very welcome and entered the Lodge as members of the V.M.M.A., in the South Matt introduced all the V.M.M.A. members in attendance and then continued with the presentation of the development of our charitable work within the community and our on going commitments.
The Annual CanTeen Ride Day planned for Sunday 18th February 2007 was then spoken about in detail, the plan at this point in time includes departing from the Royal Children's Hospital at 9.00 a.m. heading towards the Lilydale Masonic Centre for morning tea, then departing for a short ride in the Dandenong's and arriving at the Victorian Police Academy for lunch and afternoon entertainment and finally departing for Grand Lodge for afternoon tea and arriving back at the Royal Children's Hospital at 5.00 p.m.
Matt then proceed to ask Yarra Valley Lodge if they would be able to assist this event by opening the Lilydale Masonic Centre and providing morning tea to those participating in the CanTeen Ride, it was also suggest that they may invite other Lodge's at the Centre to assist with this request.
The response to the request was very prompt with Matt being informed that Yarra Valley Lodge had already discussed assisting the V.M.M.A. with the Annual CanTeen Ride in February 2007 and their vote was YES.
Once again Freemasonry Victoria via Yarra Valley Lodge has shown their willingness to assist in worthy community activities, Matt thanked Yarra Valley Lodge brethren for their support of this event.
