Return to Reports 2006 Index

At the V.M.M.A. A.G.M. held on the 12th August 2006 it was announced that Paul Willett a Civil Service Lodge & V.M.M.A. member had accepted a job in Western Australia and his departure was to be within a week. Paul's raising was to take place on the 1st September 2006 at Civil Service Lodge, but due to Paul's departure date this would not occur, discussion took place of the possibilities to Raise Paul before his departure within a week. The final outcome was that Paul was to be Raised at Lodge Prospect after receiving dispensation, Russell Medhurst suggested seeking dispensation for Paul's Raising to take place at Lodge Prospect who's work for that evening was a demonstration of the 3rd Degree.

The V.M.M.A. was able to communicate Paul's Raising to members at very short notice with 13 members attending, Bob, Chris, Glen, Matt, Warren, Gary, Eric, Dennis, George, Colin, Graeme, Tony & Russell.

Lodge Prospect performed the Raising of Bro. Paul on behalf of Civil Service Lodge, both Civil Service Lodge and V.M.M.A. members enter the Lodge together which assisted with making the evening a memorable one for Paul.

Bro. Paul Willett, M.M. in centre, W.M. of Civil Service on the left & W.M. Lodge Prospect on the right with V.M.M.A members.

In the south the W.M. of Civil Service Lodge W. Bro. Colin Fletcher expressed on behalf of Civil Service Lodge and Paul their gratitude for the offer to assist with Paul's Raising at very short notice, it demonstrated Freemasonry On The Move along with what can be achieved when we work together.

The W.M. of Lodge Prospect W. Bro. Sean Kelly thanked Bro. Russell Medhurst, S.W. & Master Elect of Lodge Prospect for being quick to respond to Paul's situation which turned a Demonstration 3rd Degree into the Raising of Bro. Paul.

Matt Turner spoke in the south of Paul's enthusiasm in both Freemasonry and the V.M.M.A.,  Paul has been very active in supporting his mother lodge along with supporting all V.M.M.A. activities, not just at weekends but also joining with us during the week on such visits to Myrtleford and Numurkah. Matt spoke about the ride back from Myrtleford where a fox run between the first 2 bikes and then doubled back in front of Paul's, at the next petrol come coffee stop Paul announce his white dinner shirt had been lost during that ride, hence from that day we have been keeping an eye out for a fox in a white dinner shirt making perfect points of entry across the road.

Truly this was a great evening for all those that attended and Freemasonry in general for what was achieved at very short notice has given Bro. Paul a great start to his new job in Western Australia.

Watch out here comes the Membership Officer, Dennis on the move!!!
