Attendance at the Annual Pink Ribbon Ride
Sunday 22nd October 2006
The V.M.M.A. once again supported the Annual Pink Ribbon Ride Day, this event aims to raise funds that will be donated to assist Breast Cancer research and is always very well supported throughout the various motorcycle organisations. This support grows each year with well over 1000 motorcycles participating in this particular event and when you include the pillion riders the number would have been around 1400, V.M.M.A. members in attendance were Matt, Jane, Maria, Chris, Sharyn, Dean, Terri, Eric, Gary, Noel, Des, Karma, Drew, Richo, Glenn, Deb, Mark, Gary, Els and Taxi.
Motorcyclists once again supporting a worthy cause, Breast Cancer at Maroondah Dam.
Bunnings at Vermont was the mustering point for registration, entry was $20 and this entitled you to a police escorted ride from Vermont through the Dandenong's and finally concluding at Maroondah Dam at Healesville for a BBQ lunch. This event is always very well supported throughout the various motorcycle clubs, motorcycling industry and companies who assist by providing services and goods that enable funds to be raised for Breast Cancer.
Must get full mileage out of this image, Matt carrying out repairs on the TRIUMPH.
Not all went well for all, the Triumph required some surgery before she would fire up for the ride from Vermont to Maroondah Dam, Matt the retired plumber carried out the surgery!!!!!!
The whole day was very well co-ordinated from the registrations at Vermont and then getting everyone out of the car park safely and then riding as a convey with a police escort that ensured that major intersections were manned so that the whole group were not split up, this was a big task that was carried out extremely well.
No confusion here!!! Pink Ribbon Ride Day
Arriving at Maroondah Dam at the rear of the group was very impressive for the whole car park area was filled with motorcyclists who then proceeded to line up for their BBQ lunch, this was also very organised with the food being already cooked and ready for serving.
During this lunch period final raffle tickets were being sold, with the 1st prize being a New Motorcycle donated by a number of Honda Dealerships and the other prizes include new helmets, ride days at Phillip Island etc.

Finally everyone departed from Maroondah Dam after having a great ride and get together, majority of the members went back into Healesville for a coffee and discussed future V.M.M.A. activities for inclusion in the events calendar.
