The V.M.M.A. was invited to attend the start of the Variety Club Annual Bash at the Venito  Club in Bulleen to assist with the departure of the Official Freemasonry Victoria entry Car 321 on its journey to Cairns, Qld.

Six members of the V.M.M.A. attended the event Eric, Matt, Russell, Larry, Chris & Sharyn, some forgot the meeting place at the coffee shop but in doing so they were able to meet with M.W. Bro. Bruce Bartrop, G.M. before he left Bulleen for another important engagement.

Boy this is a big event with a majority of the participants being well seasoned in the routine, this could be seen from their dress ups and car decorations. The event is taken very seriously in the operations side with vehicles having electronic rally type equipment installed in them so that they can navigate the trip to Cairns, for they are given route instruction each morning and at each lunch break and if they do not have accurate distance traveled equipment they will definitely get lost. The route is unknown other than the final destination is Cairns and that at least 80% of the distance traveled with be on dirt roads.

Freemasonry Victoria Official Entry Car 321, yes it carries a number of V.M.M.A. stickers.

Car 321 corresponds with Lodges each year seeking monetary support, all of which is given to the Variety Club prior to departure and determines their standing within the Bash to Cairns, Car 321 donated approx $27,000 prior to departure.

On departure three V.M.M.A. members rode their motorcycles in front with Sharyn leading the way and three rode behind to give Car 321 an escort out of the Venito  Club with Barry Minister being the G.L. Representative who drove Car 321 out of the Venito  Club.

The V.M.M.A. wishes then a safe trip and look forward to meeting with them on their arrival back in Melbourne.

Example of being well seasoned to the event!!!!!
