Report of V.M.M.A. Inc. Anakie Social Ride
Sunday 1st October 2006
(didn’t go anywhere near Anakie)
16 Riders turned up at the Shell Servo for the ride, a bit of confusion was created when Terri couldn’t work out how we were going to do a “U’ turn on the Westgate. Tim turned up and said “just saw you guys here so decided to say hello” so he ended up coming on the ride with us and is going to Russell’s open night, do I sense a new member of the Craft and the V.M.M.A.
Gathering at Westgate Shell Servo.
The ride consisted of heading out to Bulla via the Tulla F/way the back roads to Gisborne where we met up with Pedro and another new chap Matt said hello and decided to tag along with us and said he will check our dates on the Web site and come along to the next ride, it will be great to see you again Mat, after a coffee break we then headed off towards Bacchus Marsh, then onto the F/way up the Pentland Hills and into Myrniong where we stopped at the Pub and had lunch, didn’t hear any complaints so the meal must have been okay.
Great meal and good fun during lunch.
After a bit of discussion we decide to go home via Greendale, Trentham (Great bit of road but they have put a few more speed restrictions in) and Woodend, Pedro peeled off at Tilden, then we came across Russell on the ground and his bike on it’s side apparently a car had stopped in the middle of the road with his right indicator on and the done a left turn, luckily Russell was going very slow and was okay the bike had a little damage but was rideable so he was able to get home okay. We all fuelled up at Woodend and 2 groups headed of in different directions home. Apart from the accident a good day was had by all, good roads good company & good weather all we could have asked for was a little less wind Oh well can’t have everything
