April Fools Day Ride
April 1st (duh!) 2006
Both Eric and Dean had been working together to put on a fun ride for April 1st Fools, the meeting point was The Stamford Hotel car park, corner of Stud and Wellington Roads, Rowville.
After all the good weather we have had of recent weeks the weather on Saturday started the Fools Day off very well, but there were enough Fools to brave the weather and take the opportunity to have a Fun Day.
Good turn out for April Fool's Ride
The Fools to be were Matt, Jane, Maria, Dave, Viv, Dennis, Anita, Gary, Chris, Sharyn and our organisers for the day Eric and Dean.
The fun started with Eric thanking everyone for attending and then announced the ride was off and that we were going to assist Jane and Maria purchase lingerie, joke was on us no lingerie to be purchased at all, we were told to get our gear on for a good ride. Off we rode from The Stamford Hotel and after a short time this was not looking to good, appears we were going around in a big circle, yes after 5 minutes we were back at The Stamford Hotel, Eric and Dean thanked us for our attendance and to have a great day!!!!!
Another Fools Joke!!!!

Anita & Viv Waiting for the other ride group at the coffee shop.
Both Eric and Dean then gave out Blue and Red envelopes, if you had a Blue you followed Dean and if a Red you followed Eric, so for the second time off we rode in two different groups into two different directions and we assumed to the one destination?
I was in the Blue ride group and we headed out up Wellington Road into the Dandenong's, whilst passing Puffing Billy which was hidden behind an embankment the front riders all thought what has happen to my bike, for the noise of Puffing Billy sounded like their bikes had a problem, it was the Steam whistle that gave the game away and it was not their bikes at all.
Nice and warm having a coffee, whilst waiting for the other group!!!!
The weather was at times warm, cold, wet and the roads were very slippery, Dean decided he had another April Fools trick for Eric who was leading the other group, we went straight to the destination and warmed up at Gembrook Coffee shop and parked our bikes in a prominent spot so Eric would see them when he lead his Red team into Gembrook 1 hour later.
On the arrival of Eric and the Red Team at Gembrook, Eric announced he thought of the same thing but thought better of it and completed their cold wet ride through Mount Dandenong.
Lunch at The Ranges Hotel
We then moved down to The Ranges Hotel for a counter lunch, it was Dennis and Anita's wedding anniversary so a piece of cake with a candle on it was presented to them to mark this occasion, was it really their anniversary or are we the Fools and provided their desert?
After lunch we all went our own ways back home around 2.15 p.m., it was a fun day and we all thank Eric and Dean for organising the day for us Fools!!!
