Report of V.M.M.A. Inc.
Visit to The Mornington Lodge No. 160
Thursday 18th August 2005
V.M.M.A. members visiting W. Bro. Drew Webber, W.M.
L to R: Rob, Dennis, Matt, Drew, Matt, Taxi, Chris, Alan & Murray and Cliff was outside.
The V.M.M.A. visit to Mornington Lodge was two fold, one to visit our active member W. Bro. Drew Webber, W. M. of Mornington Lodge and secondly to join with Bro. Matt Houniet on his raising to the third degree.
A total of ten members of the V.M.M.A. were in attendance and a number did ride their motorcycles, even though the weather had the potential to turn out extremely rough, no rain but lots of wind. (no The Baron was not with us!!)
We entered the Lodge as members of the V.M.M.A. in the second degree, then the lodge was opened up to the third and Drew was then off and running, it was Drew's first 3rd degree and what a great job (trust I can do the same in November for Warren).
Drew presenting Matt (raised this evening) with various booklets in the south.
In the south V.M.M.A. Vice President Matt Turner informed the brethren that the V.M.M.A. is about to expand its charitable work to include the Leukaemia Foundation, this has come about by Liz Lodge former CanTeen Co-ordinator for Victoria approaching the V.M.M.A. seeking volunteers within their programs.
The first Big Big call of the V.M.M.A. is to assist at the Motorcycle Grad Prix on Friday 14th, Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th of October 2005 at Phillip Island by supply 20 volunteers per day to sell the Barry Sheen Bear Badges of which the Leukaemia Foundation will receive the proceeds of the sales.
The volunteers will receive free entry to the track, t-shirts & hats will be provided and show bags.
This equates to 540 man hours over the three days of the Grand Prix, already volunteers are stepping forward to register their assistance with covering the man hours, Matt Turner is the contact person to register.
Another great evening on the road visiting, thank you to Mornington Lodge for making us all very welcome.
