Report of V.M.M.A. Inc.
Visit To
Bendigo City Lodge No. 714
Friday 8th July 2005
Reported by Pedro
Conducted at the Bendigo Masonic Centre, on Friday 8th July, this annual event was again well attended by nearly 100 brethren, ladies, and visitors.
Motorcycles at the Bendigo Masonic Centre.
I advertised the event early in the week via email and was pleased to see Chris, Matt, and The Red Baron turn up for the event.
After a short Lodge meeting we adjourned to the supper room to enjoy the festivities, which were devoted to most things Cornish.
Rare sight to most V.M.M.A. members Pedro in his Dinner Suit with SILK GLOVES.
The pasties were brilliant, the singing from the local Cornish Choir very entertaining, and the company very pleasant.
I must say that The Red Baron kept us all entertained, at our table anyway, with his quick wit and antics.
Chris brought the camera, so this saved me from jumping up and down all night. Not unusually Baron, Matt and I played up for the various photos which appear around this report.
Our two VMMA members from the Bendigo City Lodge, Richard Penna, Ian Ray, and Mal Pethybridge were glad to see the V.M.M.A. in attendance, and Ricardo was busy as senior deacon on the night.
However, Ricardo and Matt, you both really must visit the dentist for a check-up (see photo).
Ricardo & Matt not a pretty sight, please see the dentist.
During the night we participated in the raffle, and it was made more difficult by Chris and Matt spreading my neatly laid out tickets all over our half of the table.
But, we were successful in winning some prizes, and I have a nice bottle of red wine to guzzle at a later date.
Pedro you have lots of tickets, but do you have the winning ticket?
As the night drew to a close Baron, Chris and Matt were keen to get going.
So, with bikes warming, we said our goodbyes, but had to wait for Matt to find his helmet which was mistakenly placed in the Lodge cupboard.
Finally, they rode off around 2300 dressed and rugged up to the hilt in cold weather gear.
